Dirk Messner’s glamorous compositions are timelessly elegant, combining modern elements with the intoxicating flair of the French Belle Epoque. Marveling at his models’ tastefully decorated ballroom gowns in artfully arranged interiors, we are transported back to Paris in the twenties. Messner’s style characteristically includes an illustrious interplay between light and shadow that gives the images almost a painterly feel.

When he was just 16, the prodigious talent began studying Painting and Photography at the Academy of the Arts in Stuttgart, Germany. He quickly made his mark as an international fashion photographer. These days, whenever he’s not busy photographing world-famous dance companies like the Hamburg Ballet, he’s shooting for major fashion designers and magazines.
